Awaken + Embody
An all-bodies, all-level movement class, Awaken + Embody is an experience in listening, tuning in, and coming back to the present moment. Incorporating a blend of sound, meditation, breath-work, and guided movement, participants shift from an internal focus to a collective focus, culminating the class with improvisational tasks and consensual contact improv games. Through becoming attuned to the body together, we integrate the heart, mind, and natural world as a means for participants to feel collective interconnectedness. Come experience a safe and playful environment while exploring ways to free your mind/body through movement and sound.

Process + Express
Process + Express is an open-level, interdisciplinary workshop that blends creative writing, facilitated dialogue, and embodied movement practices to support personal reflection, creative expression, and community connection. Rooted in HOLDTIGHT’s artistic process, the workshop offers participants an accessible entry point into interdisciplinary creation using body, voice, language, and imagination. Process + Express is created and led by HOLDTIGHT Artistic Director Gwendolyn Gussman.
Testimonials
“These workshops have become a meaningful new part of how I approach healing from CPTSD and ulcerative colitis. I was drawn in by how unusual and intriguing it sounded, and after my first class, I knew I wanted to keep coming back. Through movement and expression, I’ve connected with my inner child, moved through big emotions, and most importantly, felt safe enough to do so.”
— Ana
“There was no judgment here, just beautiful human bodies of all sizes moving and weaving through space together. By the time we finished, we were a cohesive group, trusting each other, our bodies working together.”
— Holly
“[The workshop] encouraged me to stretch my boundaries without needing to take a radical step outside of my comfort zone. I left feeling more in tune with my body, and proud of myself and my fellow classmates!”
— Laurel
All workshops/classes are created & led by HT’s Artistic Director Gwendolyn Gussman, at times with assistance from HT’s renowned multi-disciplinary collaborators.
